• Paternity or Maternity DNA Test (Legal or Non-Legal) – This process compares the pattern of alleged father or mother’s DNA to that of the child’s in order to determine if there is a match. DNA testing is the most definitive proof of biological relationship and in our facility a simple sample collection method is used – buccal (mouth swab) to give an accurate and reliable result. DNA tests can be performed for the purpose one’s knowledge (Non-legal or Peace of Mind) or because of legal reasons including cases of child support, immigration, will/estate, adoption, court orders, birth certification etc.
• Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity DNA Test – Determining the paternity or biological father of an unborn baby through taking some blood from the pregnant woman and alleged father is available in our centre. As early as 8th week of pregnancy, a small amount of fetal (unborn baby) blood cells containing DNA can be found in the pregnant mother’s blood and therefore DNA profile of the fetal cells are compared to that of the presumed father. This allows for accurate fetal DNA paternity testing during pregnancy from a blood draw with no risk of miscarriage
