COLPOSCOPY

Colposcopy is a medical diagnostic procedure to examine mainly the cervix (neck of the womb) and vagina indicated by abnormal pap test, dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse), intermenstrual bleeding and sometimes routine gynaecological check. A colposcope is basically a device that provides an enlarged view of a woman’s genital region to be examined by the colposcopist.

At AADIS, our colposcopist is an experienced and caring gynaecologist who also advises on some women-related medical conditions. The procedure takes about 5 to 15 minutes with minimal discomfort which may be experienced during application of diluted acetic acid and collection of biopsy specimen if abnormal tissue is noticed. The biopsy tissue is eventually taken for analysis in our histopathology laboratory within a short turn around time.

The procedure is by booking an appointment and other prerequisite preparation explained to you by our warm client relationship officers via phone, mail, social media or on physical visit to ultramodern centre.
