WHAT IS DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY?

Digital radiography is a form of X-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. The major advantages of direct digital image acquisition over other formats include time efficiency through bypassing several processing steps and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images.
Our GE Brivo DR-F digital X-Ray machine provides outstanding speed, sensitivity, contrast and resolution to produce images of the entire body. This state-of-the-art X-Ray system reduces radiation doses and minimizes the need for retakes. At Arrive Alive Diagnostic and Imaging Services, we will ensure you have a safe, comfortable examination with high-quality images to support a confident diagnosis.

Digital X-Ray benefits

Bone x-ray
A bone X-Ray can reveal fractures, infections, and bone cancer. Special x-ray scans can also be used to measure bone density.

Chest X-Ray
A Chest X-Ray is used to detect lung infections and other conditions, including pneumonia, tuberculosis, or lung cancer.

Abdominal X-Ray
Abdomen X-rays can help to diagnose digestive track problems. Abdominal x-rays can also reveal non-digestible items swallowed by children.

Special X-Ray Examinations
A special x-ray examination is used to create images of your internal organs after contrast agent (dyes) has been administered to you, to help diagnose conditions or injuries. At AADIS we offer a wide range of special x-ray examinations including but not limited to Hysterosalpingography (HSG), Intravenous Urography (IVU), Fistulograms and Barium Studies ( Swallow, meal, Follow Through, and Enema).

What to expect during an X-Ray Examination
An x-ray examination offers a non-invasive way to assess the health of your bones and other body structures. Our digital x-ray machine, quickly provides two-dimensional, anatomical images with a low radiation dose to support in-depth clinical evaluation. You need to inform the radiographer if you are pregnant.

During your appointment, one of our client relationship officers will accompany you into the x-ray examination room and have the medical radiographer attend to you. You may be asked to stay very still for a short time in order to minimize body movement and produce a clearer image. Our medical radiographer will monitor you throughout the entire procedure and will fully explain the specific details of your upcoming examination.

The actual examination portion of the x-ray procedure only takes a few seconds. Our new digital technology also reduces the elapsed time between obtaining images and image post processing.

After your x-ray Examination
Our radiologists will carefully analyze your x-ray images and provide a report to you and your physician. The radiologist or your physician can discuss the results with you. You will also be given a CD/USB containing the x-ray images or printed out digital x-ray films alongside the report.

Is an X-Ray examination safe?
X-rays are safe and effective diagnostic procedures. Millions of x-ray exams are performed across the world every year without complications. Additionally, our GE DR-F digital x-ray unit has been designed with dose reduction features that significantly minimize your radiation exposure. Digital X-Ray diagnostic imaging is supported by the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Agency and the Radiographers Radiation Board of Nigeria, which provides continuing education, certification, and a registry of medical radiographers. Our professional radiographers have the training and experience necessary to safely operate the X-Ray machine and obtain the best possible images to assist in your accurate diagnosis.
